Earth Day Tree Walk

Explore the surprising diversity of trees around City Hall and along the beautiful Donald Walkway on our 2nd annual Earth Day Tree Walk. Horticulturalist James Bobick will share his knowledge and passion for trees as we walk amongst the Magnolia and Cherry trees, and so much more in full bloom.

We welcome everyone to this free, wheel-chair accessible and family friendly outdoor event.

Saturday, 13 April 2019 from 13:00-14:30

Meet in front of Port Coquitlam City Hall – 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam

Sizdah Bedar

Sizdah Be-dar is celebrated on the thirteenth day of Nowruz, the Iranian New Year. It is celebrated by leaving houses to join nature, and spending the day outdoors.

A fun family day to picnic and enjoy the great outdoors.  Lots of wonderful food, music and dancing and PoCo Heritage Trees was pleased to be a part of the festivities.  Our volunteers helped make pipe cleaner bees, cherry blossom art and demonstrated how to plant sunflowers, peas and beans so kids could take them home and watch them grow.

Oak Tree: Nature’s Greatest Survivor

Join us under the canopy of “The Secret Life of Trees” exhibit indoor forest on March 28th at 6:30 – 8:30 pm. This will be our final co-hosted event with the museum before the exhibit closes on April 27th.

We will be screening the BBC documentary, “Oak Tree: Nature’s Greatest Survivor”.  George McGavin investigates the dramatic life of a 400 year old oak tree – a species that makes extraordinary transformations as it meets the challenges of the four seasons.

Bring a pillow, blanket, or comfy chair and join us for an amazing educational adventure! The event is FREE and popcorn will be provided.
